Lowry created paintings and drawings of Pendlebury and Salford. These are the places where he lived and worked for more than 40 years. His look on industrial districts of the north west fits in with my project. I am going to aim to try and recreate the style in which he painted the buildings and people as they are so distinctive and visually interesting. My interests are in the drawings of the coalmines, factories and terraced houses. Although the majority will not still remain i will aim to try and find as many industrial buildings that remain from the revolution. Through researching Lowry i also started looking into the work of photographer Denis Thorpe.
